ATR is poised for growth in 2023 after three challenging years due to COVID and a complex economic and geopolitical environment. Despite industry-wide supply chain issues, ATR delivered 25 new and 11 pre-owned aircraft in 2022.
The global ATR in-service fleet has almost returned to pre-COVID numbers with 1,200 aircraft flying and 160 currently in backlog.
In 2022, 150 new routes were created with ATR aircraft, demonstrating the aircraft's practicality for commuter passenger and cargo transport. The company has also emphasized its commitment to decarbonization by performing the first Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) flight in history with a commercial aircraft.
The 40-year-old company also introduced its new PW127XT engine and completed the first test flight of the ATR 42-600s, while simultaneously exploring the feasibility of its next-generation EVO concept. These achievements demonstrate ATR's focus on connectivity, sustainability, and innovation.
