The New Livery and Aircraft To Be Featured

With Walt Disney Productions’ “Moana 2” releasing next month, Hawaiian Airlines has unveiled the first of three special liveries for the fleet’s various aircraft.

The Airbus A330 is the first of three fleet types to receive a special Moana-themed aircraft, Featuring Moana, Maui, and Kakamora and a “Welcome Voyagers" message near the front of the aircraft.

“As modern-day voyagers, we pride ourselves in sharing our host culture and ensuring our guests are immersed in unparalleled comfort and breathtaking discovery as they travel with us across the Pacific Ocean,” said Alisa Onishi, director of brand and culture at Hawaiian Airlines.

After the A330 enters service, two more liveries will follow, one on an Airbus A321neo and one on a Boeing 717-200. The designs on these aircraft will differ from the A330 and feature additional characters from the motion picture film.

In addition, when the second livery is revealed, an augmented reality experience will be introduced onboard the aircraft. Since the livery is applied to short--, medium--, and long-haul aircraft, it will be seen across Hawaiian’s network.

Onboard Gifts and Sweepstakes

An additional perk of the Moana 2 promotional liveries is special rewards for guests who are the first passengers to fly on them. Also announced today was the “Navigate Your Adventure Sweepstakes”, which starts immediately and runs through November.

30 for United States, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korean residents. Five winners—one from each market—will receive 500,000 Hawaiian-Miles.

Summary

After a successful marketing campaign from the original movie, Hawaiian is doubling down on its heritage and promoting an even bigger advertisement run for the second Moana movie.

With 3 aircraft featuring special liveries, augmented reality on one, unique rewards for flying them, and vacation sweepstakes on offer, a lot is coming from the airline of the Hawaiian islands to promote the new film.

Moana 2 will premiere in theaters on November 24th, 2024, and the specialty liveries will remain on their respective Hawaiian Airlines aircraft until March 2025.
