Starting on Friday, 22nd January 2021, KLM will suspend all long-haul flights to and from the Netherlands as the Dutch government imposes strict border controls to combat the Coronavirus. A total of 270 flights will be cancelled, including intercontinental European flights, which are flights requiring flight crews to spend the night outside of Netherlands will be affected. A KLM spokesperson said "We cannot run the risk of our staff being stranded somewhere. This is why we are stopping all intercontinental flights from Friday & all flights to European destinations where crew members have to spend the night."
