This route will make Washington-Dulles LOT Polish's 7th destination in the USA.  LOT Polish currently flies to Chicago(ORD), New York-JFK, New York/Newark(EWR), Miami(MIA), Los Angeles(LAX), and in 2020, San Francisco(SFO).  Outside of these flights to Warsaw, it also flies from Budapest to New York-JFK, Krakow to Chicago and New York-JFK in 2020, and Rzeszow to New York/Newark(EWR).

LOT Polish will be operating this route with a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.  The carrier's 787-8 has a three-class configuration with 252 seats.  It has an 18 seat 2-2-2 lie-flat business class configuration, 21 seat 2-3-2 premium economy configuration, and 213 seat 3-3-3 economy.configuration.

In a statement, Yil Surehan, vice president of Airline Business Development for the MWAA(the company that operates Washington-Dulles International Airport) stated, "LOT Polish Airlines is the 18th European carrier to join the Dulles International family, continuing the airport's legacy of offering unparalleled connectivity from the National Capital Region to Europe and beyond."

The CEO of LOT Polish, Rafal Milczaraski, states, "A direct flight from Warsaw to Washington has long been on our "shortlist".  In the course of extensive business analysis, we focused not only on the very fact of connecting the capitals of Poland and the U.S., but also on the tourist and business potential offered by this connection which has been growing with each year.  Moreover, so far Central and Eastern Europe has lacked such a convenient connection to Washington D.C.  New long haul-flights to the USA are the backbone of our strategy and announcing the new connection to Washington is now certainly is not our last word."

What are your thoughts on LOT Polish's new route?  The CEO hints at new service to come. What do you expect LOT Polish to add next?  Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
