Singapore Airlines Suites: Airplane Seats the Size of an NYC Apartment!

Singapore Airlines Suites: Airplane Seats the Size of an NYC Apartment!

Singapore Airlines is consistently regarded as one of the world's greatest airlines. The carrier is known to be a leader in many aspects, especially its lavish first-class experience.

Many of the airline's Airbus A380s have been retrofitted with the new Singapore Airlines Suites. This is one breathtaking product that we will discover today.

Suite in the Sky

The Singapore Suites are available exclusively on its 12-strong Airbus A380 fleet. While the First Class Suites are revolutionary, this is not to say that Singapore's other premium products are not noteworthy.

On the contrary, the carrier is known for having among the best Business Class and Premium Economy products in the world. Its Economy Class service is also widely regarded, as to be expected with such a top carrier.

Singapore's First Class Suites offer 50 square feet of space per person depending on the seat you book. This is insane for an aircraft, given that a Manhattan studio apartment is roughly that same size.

Arguably, one Singapore Suite might even be the same price as a Manhattan apartment given how high rent in the New York City area is. Of course, a ticket in Singapore's First Class Suites can cost up to tens of thousands of dollars. However, booking via points or related avenues can bring the cost down.

Each Suite comes with a massive leather reclining seat. What makes this seat unique is that it can swivel and recline with ease. You can swivel the chair around to wherever you want in the suite.

The Suite also comes with its own bed and massive inflight entertainment screen. However, there are specific suite duos that can be combined to create Double Suites.

Passengers who book adjoining Suites 1A and 2A or 1F and 2F can remove the center divider between the suites. This makes way for a massive double bed to create double the space for yourself and your travel companion.

The Suites also come with sliding doors. While the doors are not floor-to-ceiling as you might find in Emirates' new "game-changing" first-class suites, those in the Singapore Suites are still rather tall.

This creates an unmatched sense of privacy. Combine this with blinds on the windows that can be shuttered at the press of a button, and you will have the ultimate flying experience.

More on the inflight entertainment screen, those in the suites are massive 32-inch monitors. Passengers will also receive noise-canceling Bang & Olufsen headphones that, when combined with Singapore's KrisWorld entertainment system, make passengers wish, "for once, that the flight was longer" as the airline says on its official website.

Passengers can control various aspects of the suite, including the inflight entertainment, from a handheld wireless tablet. This can control the suite's lighting and even call the flight attendants for any service-related needs.

It would not be a first-class experience without fine dining. Passengers can enjoy world-class meals on Wedgwood china tableware all atop linen tableclothes on your personal dining table.

Singapore is famous for its "book the cook" service, meaning passengers can order any item from the menu at any time. The menus are available up to eight days before a Singapore Airlines flight.

Where Do These Fly?

Singapore's First Class Suites are found on its A380s, so wherever these mammoth planes fly, you will have a chance at booking this incredible product.

The only North American gateway seeing Singapore's A380s is New York Kennedy (JFK). Singapore flies its A380 from JFK to Singapore via Frankfurt (FRA). You don't have to fly to Singapore to experience the Suite as Singapore allows passengers to book the FRA-JFK or JFK-FRA segments.

You'll also find the A380s flying to the following cities:

  • Delhi, India (DEL)
  • Mumbai, India (BOM)
  • Beijing Capital, China (PEK)
  • Shanghai Pudong, China (PVG)
  • Hong Kong (HKG)
  • Tokyo Narita, Japan (NRT)
  • Zurich, Switzerland (ZRH)
  • London Heathrow, England (LHR)
  • Sydney, Australia (SYD)

While you may have to fork over significant amounts of cash to experience this lavish product, many tickets can be found cheaper with points (that we do not have the credentials to discuss here).

In any case, regardless of the price, Singapore's First Class Suites are sure to offer passengers an experience they will never forget.
