On the afternoon of November 5th, 2024, a small jet crashed at Falcon Field Airport in Mesa, AZ. The crash included a total of 5 fatalities thus far, but the exact number is unknown at this time due to limited information. Flames and smoke were seen from the crash site just off-perimeter of the airport.

What Happened

Around 4:40 p.m., on the afternoon of November 5th, 2024, a small Honda jet, registered N57HP, was cleared for takeoff from runway 22L at Falcon Field airport. At some point during the takeoff, the plane aborted its takeoff run, overran the runway, and exited the airport perimeter on the opposite end of the field from which its takeoff run started.

Once the aircraft breached the perimeter fence, it immediately crossed Greenfield Road, which abuts the airport to the west. The aircraft then impacted multiple cars before resting on the far side of Greenfield Road.

The aircraft, a type known as the Honda Jet HA-420, was built in 2006 and has seen multiple owners since being constructed first.

Its said that all five occupants of the small jet were confirmed dead on site by police. However its also unknown how many injuries or fatalities occurred outside of the plane occupants.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash. This is a developing story, and this article will be updated as more information is released.
