NEWS Sep 22, 2022 VIDEO: Sparks Fly From United Airlines 777-200 as it Departs Newark Airport, Makes Emergency Landing United Airlines flight 149, a scheduled service from Newark/New York (EWR) to Sao Paulo, Brazil (GRU) departed at 11:24 pm when it experienced suspected engine trouble. The aircraft in question is N787UA, a Boeing 777-200ER in United's new livery. After takeoff, the aircraft entered a holding pattern over the Atlantic Ocean, displaying an altitude of FL240 (24,000 feet) on FlightRadar24. NEWS Sep 11, 2022 United Airlines Places Order for 200 eVTOL Air Taxis On Thursday, United Airlines announced its order of 200 Electric Vertical Take Off and Landing (eVTOL) air taxis with Eve. The Embraer-owned startup, Eve Air Mobility, has made a $15 million pre-purchase agreement with United for 200 aircraft, with an option of 200 more available. ROUTES Aug 30, 2022 Air Premia to Begin Seoul-Los Angeles Service in October South Korea-based startup Air Premia revealed plans to launch operations in the United States in October. The Korean startup will fly between Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on October 5th. NEWS Aug 30, 2022 PHOTOS: Underside Panel Ripped Off of United 767 Mid-Flight On Thursday, August 26, 2022, a United Airlines Boeing 767-400 performing flight UA 23 to Dublin (DUB) lost one of its main underside panels during its departure from Newark (EWR). After hearing the loud bang - the sound of the panel flying off the aircraft - the pilots decided to continue to Dublin, where the flight made a safe but late landing. NEWS Aug 22, 2022 American Airlines Restores CRJ200 Through Partnership With Air Wisconsin Amid the retirement of American Airlines's CRJ-200s during the pandemic, American Airlines will reintroduce the 50-seater city hopper to its regional fleet mix. The airline announced a new agreement with regional carrier Air Wisconsin, basing up to 60 CRJ-200s mostly at its Chicago O'Hare hub.
