Bombardier Reveals BOND Behind $1.7B Aircraft Order

Bombardier Reveals BOND Behind $1.7B Aircraft Order

Bombardier has confirmed that the previously undisclosed buyer of its $1.7 billion jet deal is a new private aviation company called BOND.

The order includes 50 aircraft, a mix of Challenger 3500s and Global 6500s with an option for 70 more. If all aircraft are delivered, the deal could be worth more than $4 billion. The first jets are set to roll out in 2027.

BOND, backed by investment firm KKR, wants to change how people fly privately. Rather than full aircraft ownership, travelers can buy a share of a plane. Each aircraft will have no more than ten owners, keeping the experience exclusive. Every flight will include a flight attendant, so passengers receive the same level of comfort and service each time they board.

Bombardier CEO Éric Martel called the deal a “strong vote of confidence” in the company’s aircraft and support network. The Canadian producer has been going great guns since focusing on business jets exclusively, and this new agreement gives another boost to its increasing order book.

Two of Bombardier's best-selling models are the Challenger 3500 and Global 6500 types. Challenger is used for short business flights, offering quiet cabins and comfortable flight quality. Global series, on the other hand, can fly from New York to Tokyo nonstop, with a sleeping, dining, and working capability in the cabin.

The partnership was announced during the 2025 NBAA Business Aviation Convention, causing quite a stir in the industry. With competition rising among high-end private jet services, Bombardier’s partnership with BOND shows that new players are betting big on luxury air travel.

For Bombardier, the order confirms its strong comeback in the business jet world. And for BOND, it marks an ambitious start, aiming to make private flying more personal, flexible, and stylish for a new wave of travelers.
